Description: The present disclosure provides a coated paperboard comprising a paperboard substrate and a coating layer wherein: the coating layer comprises a pigment mixture and a binder in a dry weight ratio within the range of from 100:14 to 100:25; the pigment mixture comprises a calcium carbonate pigment and a clay pigment in a dry weight ratio within the range of from 98:2 to 92:8; and the calcium carbonate pigment has a particle size distribution (wt. % < 2 μm) within the range of from 75 to 95. La présente divulgation concerne un carton revêtu comprenant un substrat en carton et une couche de revêtement, la couche de revêtement comprenant un mélange de pigments et un liant dans un rapport en poids sec au sein de la plage de 100:14 à 100:25 ; le mélange de pigments comprenant un pigment de carbonate de calcium et un pigment d'argile dans un rapport en poids sec au sein de la plage de 98:2 à 92:8 ; et le pigment de carbonate de calcium possède une distribution de taille particulaire (% en poids < 2 µm) au sein de la plage de 75 à 95.
