  • Description: South Korea's capital had its time to shine last September with the dual-staging of Kiaf and Frieze Seoul. In May, the limelight shifted 325 kilometers southeast to the country's second-tier city where Art Busan 2023 (May 5-7) held its largest edition to date. Yet despite a lineup of nearly 150 galleries from 21 countries-up from 134 exhibitors in 2022- buyers showed more caution, leading to mixed sales and reflecting a cooling-off period after South Korea's art industry boom of recent years.
