  • Mô tả: Glass mat reinforced thermoplastic (GMT) sheets were first introduced in the early 1970s [1] in order to produce large parts by hot pressing techniques economically. Their earlier but still-used designation ‘organic sheets’ clearly indicate that the main target with GMTs was to replace stampable metallic sheets especially in the automotive industry. Considering the cost-related mechanical performance, GMTs are located between injection-moldable discontinuous (short or long) glass fiber (GF) reinforced and advanced thermoplastic composite with various fiber and fabric architecture. Their market acceptance is triggered by the following: • high innovation potential in respect to material properties, production, processing and ecological demands;• design freedom (production of complex parts by integrating several functional elements and thus reducing assembly costs);• low density associated with weight saving when other construction materials are replaced;• high productivity of both manufacturing and processing;• easy recycling.
