  • Mô tả: The term additives too closely characterizes the attitudes governing the use of chemicals at the paper machine's wet end. Chemicals are commonly added to modify paper properties according to some formula derived from laboratory trials, production trials, or both. If the results appear to be deficient in the beginning, more is added. More, in fact, often provides inferior results or no evident improvement, while contributing to expensive problems, such as deposits and felt filling. Often, the beginning formula provides an excess of one or more components. Usually, little or no consideration is given to the stoichiometries of the reactions among the chemicals and the need to measure the chemical consequences of the conditions chosen. To tailor the desired paper properties without the associated problems requires an understanding of the reactions involved and analytical measurement.
