Description:
Cette analyse permettra de proposer une fenêtre de processabilité Slurry impregnation processing consists in developing unidirectional C-PEKK tapes from an aqueous suspension of polymer. The prepreg manufacturing processes are complex and sensitive to the variations of several parameters. Very little information on the processing mechanisms of thermoplastic prepregs is available in the literature. Understanding and modeling the mechanisms of impregnation of fibrous media by polymer powder represent major obstacles to the optimization of semi-products with controlled microstructure. The aim of this thesis is to improve the understanding of the impregnation mechanisms and to optimize this prepregs manufacturing process. An instrumented bench was designed thanks to IRT‘S expertise and knowledge of similar processes. In a first study, the microstructure of a tow understanding uniaxial traction was analyzed by quantitative image analysis. The results from the instrumented bench confirmed the existence of a crossflow filtration process during the impregnation of the tow. A parametric study was finally performed in order to quantify the influence of each parameter on polymer rate and distribution between permeate and suspended particles deposit to form a cake layer. This analysis will allow to propose a process window
