Description:
Introduction and target of the study : with the increase in antibiotic resistance, the SPILF published in 2018 some recommendations for the management of community-acquired urinary tract infections in adults. The target of our study is to establish a status report on antibiotic therapy in simple, recurrent and complication-prone cystitis by general practitioners in Picardie according to these recommendations. Material and Method : this cross-sectional and observational study was conducted by a questionnaire submitted to general practitioners in Picardie from 02/08/2022 to 04/22/22. The evaluation criteria were the knowledge of the recommendations in the prescription of molecules, durations and orders of intention. Results : 118 questionnaires were analyzed, representing 40% of the 300 questionnaires requested. In the case of simple acute cystitis, 31% declared a compliant antibiotic therapy, 15% for recurrent cystitis and 5.9% for cystitis at risk of complication. Discussion : the knowledge based on the 2018 recommendations on antibiotic therapy for cystitis by general practitioners in Picardie is insufficient. The points to be improved mainly concern the overrepresentation of fluoroquinolones and 3rd generation cephalosporins, the order of intention and the correct duration of the molecules. Conclusion : in order to improve the adoption of good practices, it would be advisable to develop communication actions, prescribing assistance platforms and simplify recommendations.
