  • Mô tả: Petroleum waxes are obtained from paraffinic refinery streams in lubricating oil manufacture. The main characteristics of wax are (i) colorless, (ii) odorless, (iii) translucent, and (iv) a melting point above 45 °C (113 °F). Petroleum wax is of two general types: the paraffin waxes in petroleum distillates and the microcrystalline waxes in petroleum residua. The melting point of wax is not directly related to its boiling point, because waxes contain hydrocarbons of different chemical nature. As with any petroleum product, and waxes are no exception, there is a series of standard test methods that can be applied to determine the properties. Almost all physical and functional properties of the wax are affected by (i) the molecular weight range, (ii) distribution of its individual components, and (iii) the degree of branching of the carbon skeleton.
