Description: Although the December 1988 release of Version 2.2 of Lotus Development Corp.'s Lotus 1-2-3 may be eclipsed by the more intriguing Version 3.0, Release 2.2 has less demanding hardware requirements and it can produce presentation-quality output. Release 2.2's features list is not much different from Release 2.01, but the product is just fine for the majority of users who have no need for the power and capacity of Release 3.0. This new release's graphics features are still poor, with an inadequate number of graph types and a lack of any type of customization. Release 2.2 does offer simple file-linking capability, improved macro debugging, and some minor enhancements in the graphics area. Its overall performance is still rated good, while overall compatibility is rated excellent. Release 2.2 has several enhancements in ease of use and an improvement in error messages. Although this is not the most significant upgrade made, it will meet the needs of a vast majority of spreadsheet users and is a very good value.
