  • Description: Most economists believe that the strategic goal of any business is the growth of the company which is primarily determined by the rates of sales growth. Managing the growth of a company requires balancing of the company's goals from the perspective of possible sales, efficiency increasing and availability of financial resources. The modeling of sustainable growth is widely used in practice of financial management and there are number of models worked out for this purpose. Objective of the paper is to assess the growth opportunities of small construction companies operating in Saint-Petersburg. Two models of sustainable growth were used - the Higgins ' model and the model suggested by Van Horne. The conclusions were made about the applicability of the models and about the possibility to realize the growth rate calculated with their use.
