  • Description: Banking supervision is the right to interfere by a supervisory institution in the operation of banks, by virtue of binding laws, in order to ensure their lawful and safe functioning. Efficient operation of banks is particularly important to the national economy, as it enables uninterrupted financing of economic processes. Commercial banks are guided in their operation by rules of competition and opportunities for making profit. In these circumstances, it is necessary to implement a suitable system of monitoring, assessment and possible reaction to irregularities that may occur in Poland. JEL Classification G210, G280.
