  • Description: The commercial and military relations of the Ottomans with the Venetians, Genoese, and then Florentines after the conquest of Istanbul triggered the desire for receiving information from each other in regarding all respects of their cultures since the foundation of Ottomans. In this context; reports, letters, travel books and books about the Ottomans written by Italians constitute a comprehensive corpus of relevant information. In addition, there are many works about the Ottoman Empire in Italy that the general public knows of, and these works are precious in terms of the information they contain. This article focuses on these works and aims to provide information from different perspectives about the works written concerning the Ottomans before and after the Battle of Lepanto.
