Description:
PURPOSE:To instantaneously recognize that some part of a picked-up picture is ranged at which percent in terms of a picture value by displaying a color scale on a display so that partition lines equally segmented by every plural gradations of the scale overlap with each other. CONSTITUTION:A table memory 3, receiving data from an image memory 4, a plane memory 5 and a partition signal information memory 6, is driven and controlled by a display controller 2, mixes the data, transmits them to a D/A converter 7, and further transmits them to a display 8. The color scale 10 is displayed on the display together with the picked-up picture 9. The color scale 10 is segmented by the partition line 11 to divide 256 gradations by 10. Consequently, half toner recognition that the picture value of part of the picked-up picture 9 is ranked at which percent in terms of the total picture value on the color scale 10 can be carried out instantaneously.
