  • Description: The invention relates to a method and machine wherein a yarn runs between means for supplying yarn to yarn-gathering means, by means of: tensioning means, twisting means with a diameter DB and guiding means, the yarn-gathering means (2) being connected to actuating means for rotating the yarn-gathering means (2) at a predetermined speed, such that the yarn forms a spiral path with at least two balloons (4) at a point located within a distance LB corresponding to the distance between the guiding means and the twisting means, the distance LB being at least three times the distance DB. The method is characterised in that, during the spinning process, the yarn is constrained by a first constriction ring (2) on one of the balloons (4), with a determined constriction or shape in the line of contact (Y) with the balloon (4), such that the shape of each of the subsequent balloons (4), that is those located downstream of the balloon constricted by the balloon-constricting ring (2), is modified without requiring constriction rings with new constriction shapes (Y', Y''...) associated with the constriction shape of the first constriction ring (2), thereby reducing the variation in tension in the spinning process.
