  • Description: This paper aims at providing an overview of an array of terms and expressions used in the communication process in emergency situations. We will thus highlight the range of language tools designed by different international institutions which have felt the need to categorise and structure the available terminology with the purpose of either ensuring an adequate transmission of information to the public at large or of simply benefiting internally from a clear linguistic inventory meant to lead to a smooth running of specific activities.
