  • Description: This chapter focuses on the fatigue behavior of glass fiber reinforced short fiber reinforced composite (SFRC). The response of SFRC to fatigue loading manifests itself in two easily observable ways. First is the Stress‐Number (SN) of Cycles curve; it represents the number of cycles to failure if a certain load is applied. Second is the loss of stiffness; SFRC materials suffer from continuous loss of stiffness during cyclic loading. As was the case with textile composites, the most common fatigue loading type is constant stress amplitude, sinusoidal wave‐form of tension‐tension loading with an applied load ratio of 0.1. The chapter presents a brief overview of the prevalent protocols for fatigue testing of SFRC. Coupons for fatigue testing are commonly prepared by injection molding plates and machining coupons in different directions with respect to the matrix flow direction (MFD).
