  • Description: Disease management in psychiatry is based upon building relationships, the foremost of which is with the patient. Talk to your patients to ensure that they are well informed. A major issue in treatment is the stigma that surrounds these illnesses, which can prevent patients from initially obtaining treatment or continuing with therapy. Pharmacists can play a major role in reducing these stigmas by clarifying misconceptions about psychiatric disorders, particularly about their etiology.
