  • Description: The effect of post-treatments on Z-stage efficiency and selectivity are discussed. A commercial oxygen-delignified southern pine kraft pulp sample was used for research. Several types of treatments were evaluated after the ozone stage. The post treatments are discussed in the categories of: 1. washing, neutralization, and extraction, 2. oxidative extractions, 3. alkaline peroxide, 4. acid peroxide, and 5. other post-treatments. The post-ozone treatment can significantly affect the bleachibility of the pulp in final bleaching stages.
