  • Description: The topic of this thesis is Women in Jewish literature within a historical context. The periods in which women are the most studied are within the Biblical periods - pre-monarchic and monarchic period. Women, who in modern times are often considered a second-class, social class in history, are presented here as key figures in Jewish history. Twelve women have been selected whose history, role, historical context, and purpose are described. With their courage, devotion, and love, in addition to other virtues that each of them individually have, they show the value of women in a beautiful light. Moreover, the important fact is that each of them belonged to the chosen people, the people of G-d. Women, whether they are: queen, judge, prophetess, or prostitute, wrong or right, always have a role from which they can do good. Therefore, it is very dangerous to generalise women in any context. Therefore, we want to show that each woman is individually important in the role which she holds.
