  • Description: The article presents the results of the analysis of over 300 Polish memes regarding the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the years 2020-2021. The aim of the study was to determine how memes - treated as vehicles of persuasion - impose on the audience the interpretation of facts. By distinguishing four types of protagonists: the Victim, the Persecutor, the Savior and the Fool, it was possible to determine which social groups are cast in each role. These roles, along with the corresponding typical scenarios, evoked narratives that could elicit specific opinions and emotions about the pandemic and related behaviors or decisions.
