  • Description: Economic relations at the current stage of development have led to an increase in the importance of intangible assets in ensuring effective functioning of subjects at different levels. As it is noted in the theory of the new industrial society, building an innovative economy is directly dependent on the level of investments in the intellectual capital. The processes of intellectualization have been discussed over the decade, but have not been fully studied, which makes it important to study more thoroughly the problems associated with the use of intellectual resources. The development of the economic theory leads to the contact of various economic categories with the study of intellectual capital; such categories include the leverage concept which is considered in this research. Opportunities to adapt the leverage concept to the complex assessment of effectiveness in the use of intellectual capital are currently poorly studied, but the analysis of the existing works allows justifying the possibility of further problem solution. The given paper presents the research which allows estimating the effectiveness of managerial decisions concerning the investments into the intellectual capital of an enterprise on the basis of the leverage concept. Improvement of the existing provisions on intellectual leverage enables expanding the possibilities of its use in the economic practice. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by the use of intellectual leverage through modification of technological leverage, expansion of its constituent elements in order to define the transformational intellectual leverage, as well as the possibility to compare the indicators of intellectual leverage with evaluation of intellectual capital effectiveness. In further research, it is planned to conduct a comprehensive analysis of a specific industry from the perspective of the level of intellectualization and the use of intellectual leverage to obtain industry-wide indicators and identify industry dynamics, as well as to build a regression and correlation model to determine the factors that have the greatest impact on the change of intellectual leverage in order to control its dynamics and forecast
