  • Description: Dr. Meloy presented a multi-faceted exploration of psychopathy, summarizing much of his writing on the condition (see especially Meloy, 2001b), and the broad range of contemporary scientific findings. He described psychopathy in terms of core psychological and behavioural symptomology, abnormal neurophysiology, and distinctive psycho dynamics. Highlighting the qualities of extreme narcissism coupled with cruelty devoid of emotional involvement, Meloy argued for a tripartite pattern of underlying psychological organization, marked by non -attachment, cortical under-arousal, and very low anxiety.
