Provider: - Institution: - Data provided by Europeana Collections- A large cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle with a grooved projection on the outer edge for the pin seating. The plate is slightly trapezoidal and is engraved with a quatrefoil at the centre of a plain ribbon of interlace. The field is infilled with a grid and on three sides there is a bordering strip which contains a wavy line. On the projecting frame housing are engraved diagonal lines. The lower part of the plate is shorter than the upper. There were four rivets originally; two domed rivets survive.- All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. However, Europeana requests that you actively acknowledge and give attribution to all metadata sources including Europeana
