  • Description: A gear train of a 10-speed automatic transmission of a vehicle is provided to improve fuel efficiency by realizing 10 forward speeds and one backward speed by combining a composite planetary gear set only by using clutches. A first transmission(T1) includes a first planetary gear set(PG1) having a first sun gear(S1), a first planetary carrier(PC1), and a first ring gear(R1). A second transmission(T2) includes second and third planetary gear sets(PG2,PG3), a second sun gear(S2), a second planetary carrier(PC2), a second ring gear(R2), a third sun gear(S3), and a third ring gear(R3). The first planetary carrier is directly connected to an input shaft and coupled with the third sun gear through a first clutch. The first ring gear is connected to an output gear and variably coupled with the third sun gear through a second clutch. The first ring gear is connected to the second planetary carrier through a third clutch. The first sun gear is variably connected to the second sun gear through a fourth clutch and variably coupled with the second planetary carrier through a fifth clutch. The first sun gear is variably connected to the second ring gear through a sixth clutch. A transmission housing is fixed with the third ring gear.
