  • Description: The article examines the crisis of identity in post-Soviet Russia, reveals its causes and identifies three interdependent levels of crisis: personal, interpersonal and social. Political, economic, cultural and other transformations taking place in our country after the collapse of the USSR led to a situation of General social instability. The social reality in which a modern Russian has been embedded is volatile and offers many mutually exclusive behaviors. In the current situation the formation of a deep social identity is extremely difficult. The emerging identities are unstable and do not provide involvement in the General cultural and historical process. It also creates a favorable ground for the artificial construction of false social identities, unable to integrate the subject into the real system of social relations. The impossibility of correlation with a strong social community hinders the normal development of an individual and the formation of interpersonal relationships necessary for the formation of a healthy society. According to the results of studies conducted in the framework of modern sociology, philosophy and political science, to counteract the growth of the crisis, it is necessary to form an all-Russian civil nation capable of consolidating society. The historical experience of our state makes it possible to verify the futility of attempts to create a single community on the basis of principles external to the spiritual world of man. This article proposes a personal approach to understanding the nation formed within the framework of Christian philosophy. At the present stage of development of science, the value of this approach in its universality, which allows to combine the advantages of classical methods of describing the phenomenon of the nation. Personal approach proposes to consider the nation as a collective inspired personality that allows one to implement the system of strong spiritual connections in society. At the same time it creates an opportunity to change the egoistic behavior models fillng the modern atomized Russian society with ideals that have superpersonal values at their core. As a result it is concluded that the concept of “nation” needs to be filled with spiritual content leading to the resolution of the crisis in its personal and social aspects.
