Description:
The number of Chinese parents who can afford to send their children abroad for school - and decide to do so - is still small. But in the last few years, the trend has surged dramatically. Twenty years of fast-paced economic growth has created a wealthy elite in China with the financial wherewithal to pay private-school fees in countries like Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Perceived shortcomings in the Chinese education system, combined with the increasing integration of China's economy into the world's, have given parents the incentive to explore educational opportunities elsewhere.
