  • Description: The recommendations of the government-sponsored Myners Report into UK pension fund investing have been widely adopted by pension schemes in the country. The study resulted in The Myners Code of Best Practice, released in 2001, and as many as 86 percent of fund trustees have held discussions on the implementation of its principles. Piers Bertlin, European partner at Mercer, noted that funds have generally been slower to act on certain issues covered by Myners such as alternative investing. "This is not surprising as trustees are going through a process of education and familiarisation before making decisions," he said.
