  • Description: Burnham and Rexstad (1993) presented a band recovery model that incorporates time-dependent recovery rates and survival rates. In this paper, an estimating function approach is proposed to derive estimators of recovery rates and survival rates. Explicit expressions are given for the derived estimators and their associated asymptotic variances. Examples, including a case for the survival of stalls in the Feng Chia University business district night market, are used to demonstrate the proposed estimating function approach.
