  • Description: Many authors called the attention to the importance of performance management; nowadays it is one of the central fields of human resource management. The essential condition of high-standard service and production is ensuring excellent performance, for its maintenance regular evaluation and feed-back as well as motivation and development are necessary. My examination is a part of the integrated research program started at the beginning of the 1990'ies at the Department of Management and Labour Sciences of the Faculty of Applied Economics and Rural Development in the University of Debrecen. My research was based on mainly primary data collection. The research was located in the Northern Great Plain region, limited companies and joint stock companies got into the sample. It is relevant that communication should get sufficient role in the process of performance management. It is essential to mention the precise objective to the appraised persons, which may help in evolving trust between managers and employees. Hypothesis of the research are: Feedbacks relating to performance appraisals are future oriented, are of problem solving featured, managers take the suggestions of the appraised into consideration.
