  • Description: THERE are times when no amount of persuasion or advice can initiate change. Often, change only comes when it is forced upon. A few years ago, there was a suggestion from the authorities that listed companies should endeavour to provide quarterly reports of their financial statements to enhance transparency. The recent decision by the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) making it mandatory for listed companies to provide quarterly reports is long overdue. After all, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines already have such a ruling.
