  • Description: Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and their diasporas have become key actors in the international arena. This study investigates the issue ofhow to create rights and obligations for Jamaicans living in Britain that are consistent with their citizenship in both host and home societies, despite their different obligations and responsibilities to home and host nations. Additionally, the study seeks to assess the problem of the conflict, or contradiction, between a new form of nationalism--trans-nationalism --and a controversial form of citizenship--diasporic citizenship.
