Description: This issue's Focus on Teacher Education features two pieces. First, we hear from Denise DaRos, Anita Ede, and Roxanne Fillmore, at the College of Education at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Their article, "Valuing Responsive Home-School Partnerships," discusses why parent(s) may be reluctant or simply cannot participate in school-related events, noting the practical, valid reasons that often limit parents' presence at school. Next, Gerlinde G. Beckers from Southeastern Louisiana University and Leah Katherine Saal from Arkansas State University examine the Mathematics Common Core State Standards and question the missing concept of text complexity juxtaposed with the other content area Common Core Standards.
