  • Description: To provide a manufacturing method of a felt for papermaking, which suppresses increase of bending rigidity in a weft direction and is excellent in surface smoothness, and a felt for papermaking manufactured by the manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A felt for papermaking has a base cloth and a surface batt fiber layer that is laminated on a papermaking surface side of the base cloth and contains a core-sheath fiber having a fusion point of a sheath component of 165 to 185°C and a higher fusion point of a core component than that of the sheath component. A manufacturing method of the felt for papermaking has a laminating step to obtain a laminate by entangling a base cloth material with a surface batt fiber layer material, and a compression treatment step to apply compression treatment to the laminate at a temperature higher than the fusion point of the sheath component of the core-sheath fiber by 0 to 10°C. Fineness of the core-sheath fiber is preferably 15 to 20 dtex. When entire mass of the surface batt fiber layer is 100%, preferably 30 to 50% by mass of the core-sheath fiber is contained. The felt for papermaking is manufactured by the manufacturing method of the felt for papermaking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】緯方向の曲げ剛性の上昇を抑制し、表面平滑性に優れる製紙用フェルトの製造方法及びこの製造方法によって製造された製紙用フェルトを提供する。【解決手段】製紙用フェルトの製造方法は、基布と、前記基布の製紙面側に積層され、鞘成分の融点が165~185℃かつ芯成分の融点が鞘成分の融点より高い芯鞘繊維を含む表バット繊維層と、を備えた製紙用フェルトの製造方法であって、基布素材と表バット繊維層素材とを交絡して積層体を得る積層工程と、前記積層体を前記芯鞘繊維の鞘成分の融点より0~10℃高い温度で圧縮処理する圧縮処理工程と、を備える。前記芯鞘繊維の繊度は15~20dtexであることが好ましい。前記表バット繊維層全体の質量を100%とした場合に、前記芯鞘繊維を、30~50質量%含むことが好ましい。製紙用フェルトは、本発明の製紙用フェルトの製造方法により製造される。【選択図】図8
