Si bien hay estudios sobre estos procesos, existen vacíos de conocimiento sobre este tema, desde un enfoque arquitectónico. El trabajo apunta a ser un pequeño aporte al conocimiento de la vivienda social en la capital del Ecuador. La construcción de vivienda de interés social ha sido, generalmente, uno de los importantes ofrecimientos de los políticos que gobiernan, en sus respectivas campañas electorales. Ya en el poder han sido muy variadas las estrategias para abordar este tema. Se pretende establecer un estudio comparativo entre las diferentes y principales propuestas de vivienda colectiva, de promoción pública, observar sus características, partiendo de las premisas del diseño, programa, tamaño (área), estructura, ubicación y contexto socio-político, indicadores que marcan una pauta objetiva para establecer parámetros de análisis y observar qué dirección está tomando la vivienda colectiva de interés social en Quito-Ecuador dentro de la arquitectura.- [EN] The research focusses on the process of collective social housing transformation in Quito. Even though there are studies about these processes, there are gaps about this field from an architectural point of view. This work aims to be a small contribution to build on the knowledge about social housing in the capital of Ecuador. The construction of Social housing has been, generally, one of the main offerings that politicians that govern, in their correspondent electoral campaigns. When these politicians are already in power, the strategies to handle this topic have been applied in diverse fashions. It is intended to establish a comparative study among the different and main proposals for collective housing promoted by the state, observe their features, starting from their design premises, program, size (area), structure, site and socio-political context. These features mark an objective reference in order to establish analysis parameters and to observe what direction social collective housing is taking in Quito Ecuador, within the architectural field.- All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
