It is a technology that has, over the past three decades, taken hold and enriched multiple areas of science, most notably healthcare. Starting from these premises, this special issue will specifically investigate how VR and other important advanced technologies are being adopted and adapted for use in the healthcare field, with a specific focus toward the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.
