Despite the proliferation of the research in exploring the impact of top executives’ characteristics on firm performance, the literature is fragmented and disparate. The present study aims to provide a holistic understanding of the influence of several characteristic of the top management at various strategic levels including board members, CEOs and TMTs on the performance of the firm. An integrative framework is developed that facilitates in gaining an overview of the field to help identify the future directions
