  • Description: IntroductionDisparities in reproductive health has been highlighted. We reviewed contraceptive outcomes to inform service development.MethodsRetrospective review of SRHAD attendances1st April- 30th Sept 2022. Ethnicity and indices of multiple deprivation (IMD) for attendances was compared to expected numbers based on clinic population.Results8599 attendances.Abstract P005 Table 1Ethnicity of contraception attendances vs weighted populationContraception category Emergency Emergency LARC LARC Non-LARC Non-LARC Ethnicity Attendances Weighted population Attendances Weighted population Attendances Weighted population White 255 335 2,420 2,269 2,630 2,714 Asian 68 94 467 673 514 818 Black 112 57 253 331 520 421 Mixed 60 27 181 174 339 212 Other 52 25 327 159 417 201 Abstract P005 Table 2Contraception attendances vs weighted population for IMD decileContraception category Emergency Emergency LARC LARC Non-LARC Non-LARC IMD decile Attendances Weighted population Attendances Weighted population Attendances Weighted population 1 18 11 59 62 83 77 2 103 78 425 447 625 565 3 100 89 522 549 723 671 4 119 98 772 679 1,003 827 5 82 82 601 585 721 707 6 67 80 583 582 621 696 7 48 58 439 429 454 506 8 41 56 413 403 401 466 9 25 35 228 264 223 272 10 9 16 122 128 95 120 Black and mixed patients were overrepresented in attendances for emergency contraception, 1.9 fold and 2.2 fold of predicted attendance respectively (p<0.001).IMD decile vs% accessing emergency contraception pseudo R-squared value is 0.872 and for IMD decile vs% LARC 0.935.DiscussionWe demonstrated disparities in outcomes for ethnicity & social deprivation. A disproportionate uptake of emergency contraception and LARC was observed in non-white and lower IMD groups.% of attendances for emergency contraception was negatively correlated with IMD decile.We recommend qualitative-based community approaches to understand the choices people have and co-creation of services to best meet reproductive needs.
