Dispositivo para imantar (101) un rotor (20) de una máquina eléctrica con una clasificación de potencia de al menos 1 MW, en el que el rotor comprende material de imán permanente, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo una culata (2) con una bobina electromagnética (1) dispuesta para producir un campo magnético pulsado para imantar el material de imán permanente (22), en el que el campo magnético es suficiente para imantar un polo magnético permanente (23) cuando el rotor y la culata se encuentran en una relación fija entre sí, caracterizado porque la razón entre la longitud del al menos un polo magnético permanente (23) y la longitud de la culata (2) es entre uno y dos, y en el que el dispositivo está configurado para desplazar el rotor en la dirección axial del rotor (20) entre un primer y un segundo pulso magnético. The present invention relates a device for magnetizing a rotor of an electrical machine with a power rating of at least 1 MW, wherein the rotor comprises permanent magnet material, said device comprising a yoke with an electromagnetic coil arranged to produce a pulsed magnetic field for magnetizing the permanent magnet material, wherein the magnetic field is sufficient to magnetize a permanent magnetic pole wherein the rotor and yoke is in a fixed relation to each other. The invention also relates to a method for magnetization of a rotor with permanent magnets for an electrical machine.
