  • Description: The investment indicator, based on assessments of the current business situation by leasing companies and jointly calculated by the Association of German Leasing Companies and the Ifo Institute, signals a sharp increase in investment in machinery, including other equipment, of 8% for 2014, that may be set to continue beyond the end of the year. This would mean a return to the pre-crisis level before the end of 2014 and that the investment rate in equipment investment in Germany would increase again after decreases in 2012 and 2013, while remaining at a low level.
