  • Description: Canadian-owned PetroKazakhstan is considering buyout offers from two companies, one Chinese and one Indian. Kazakhstan is easing out western investors, with the exception of the oil majors, and turning to Asian partners as a complement to incumbent Russian and Kazakh investors. The emergence of China National Petroleum Corp and India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp as the two main suitors underlines the emergence of China and India as active players in global energy mergers and acquisitions.
