  • Description: In these patients septal myectomy (SM) is proposed as the gold standard therapy; however, the association between SM and improvement in exercise capacity (EC) has not been extensively studied. Independent predictors of no-benefit were older age, male sex, lower pre-myectomy VO2, diabetes, beta blocker usage, and/or higher BMI (Table 1).
