  • Description: This paper gives us insight into language irregularites in the public places in Gospic. By exploring the names of streets, parts of town, traffic signs, public posters, advertisments & supermarkets, the language irregularities are visible on all language levels, so solutions in accordance with orthography, grammar & lexical norms are suggested. The influence of the English language is seen on the lexical as well as on the syntactic level. The concern for the Croatian standard language should be pointed out in this context. References.
