Ugandan Asians have arrived in England at the Stradishall RAF camp, following their expulsion by the President of Uganda, Idi Amin. Many of the families sit in groups at the camp. Interview with an official who describes the temporary arrangements that have been made for the Ugandan Asians at the camp and the amenities provided for the families. MP Eldon Griffiths reiterates that the camp is only a temporary measure and details the logistics of immigration procedure. Anglia reporter Tim Childs visits the kitchens where staff are preparing a hot meal for the recently arrived families, and details the menu available that day. Ugandan Asians arrive at Stansted Airport from Africa on a cold wet day in September. Many of the air crew help by carrying luggage and some of the younger passengers. An Anglia TV reporter interviews many of the new arrivals, asking them what their professions were in Africa; what work they hope to get in England; if they have relatives in the country; the belongings they had to leave behind; and also, asking if they are frightened of reprisals should they speak unfavourably about President Amin.
