  • Description: The present invention concerns agents for prevention or decrease of damages caused by stress conditions, particularly ischemica and/or hypoxia and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such agents. Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of a decrease in the levels of protease activated receptor (PAR) mRNA caused by a lack or decrease of oxygen level and/or a lack or decrease of blood flow including pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and activators of PAR are provided. Methods for prevention of a decrease in the levels of protease-activated receptor PAR mRNA caused by lack or decrease in the oxygen level and/or lack or decrease in blood flow are also provided.
