  • Description: Methods This retrospective cohort study includes consecutive patients from January 1991 through February 2015 (101,664 exercise and 36,651 pharmacologic tests). After successive matching of each of the 4 lower quintiles to patients with greater exercise capacity, the HRs attenuated, but remained significant (HR 1.77, 95% CI 1.67-1.87; HR 1.59, 95% CI 1.48-1.70; HR 1.60;95% CI 1.46-1.70; HR 1.34, 95% CI 1.17-1.55) Conclusion The inability to exercise and lower exercise capacity is independently associated with higher all-cause mortality.
