Disaster preparation and response planning are important to lessen the impact of future disaster events. In August 2015, a workshop on collaborative disaster preparedness was held in Da Nang, Vietnam, where local and international actors discussed collaboration, preparedness and response mechanisms, and lessons learned from past disaster management.
