Using Boric Acid and Additives to Catalyze Direct Amidation Reactions
  • Author: Jernigan, Kate
  • Subjects: Catalytic system ; Chemistry ; Green chemistry
  • Description: Green chemistry principles were used to research a catalytic system that may be effective for amidation, a popular bond-forming reaction used in the pharmaceutical industry. A benchmark reaction was used to test various additives on the boric-acid-based catalytic system developed previously in the Boisvert lab. The optimized catalytic system was then tested on various sets of substrates and on larger scale. Part of: Student Research and Creative Works -- University of Puget Sound
