Supply Management, 2010-04, Vol.15 (8), p.10
Description:
A national procurement strategy to encourage police forces to buy in bulk could save L400 million by 2014-2015 and put more bobbies on the beat, according to the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). A frontline force: Proposals for more effective policing argues the service rarely enjoys economies of scale when using its annual budget of around L2 billion. This covers the purchase of goods and services for the 43 forces in England and Wales.
