The social network Twitter has been analyzed to check the population's reaction to social isolation and quarantine. [...]to explore public concerns about the evolution of COVID-19 and how governmental positions were adopted, a sample of daily tweets in Portuguese was collected to perform analysis of sentiments and emotions. The importance of the availability and reliability of information, the resulting need for transparency of information systems and the empowerment of health professionals and local managers to make the best surveillance and / or clinical decisions across the different sectors of the sector are emphasized.
