  • Description: World grains consumption in food and feed continues to climb, with demand for animal proteins such as meat, eggs and milk underpinned by population growth, rising incomes and longer-term shifts in dietary preferences. The increase in prices reflected a combination of concerns about the La Niña weather phenomenon, supply disruption from the Vietnamese market amid fresh coronavirus-related restrictions and global shortages of shipping containers, which hampered exports and disrupted supply chains.
