  • Description: Foodborne health problems have increased in recent years. With this development, immune system health and foods that strengthen the immune system gained importance. The necessity of using durable foods for a long time with increasing population growth, which is the basic condition for the continuation of life, brought health risks of foods together. One of the ways to reduce these risks is to produce healthy foods and to consume them. Foods containing probiotics are the primary ones. Many studies have revealed that probiotic bacteria protect the health of the intestines, considered the second brain, and have an important role in the realization of vital metabolic activities. In addition, probiotics produce molecules and directly interact with the intestines to regulate the immune system. This review will focus on the importance of probiotic products for healthy nutrition and immunity.
